Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida
Situation
The Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida (hereafter DSFF) was newly formed as of 2010. They came to Better3 for help with their organization's launch. Advocates of inclusion, DSFF wanted to differentiate themselves from other charities, yet allow the awareness and advocacy they generated to benefit all Down syndrome charities statewide.
As Better3's Charity of Choice, all consulting and creative services were donated at no cost to DSFF.
The Better3 Solution
The Central Florida region has a close-knit Down syndrome community, including an already-established Down syndrome charitable organization. DSFF was sensitive to how families would embrace another charity. The first product we created was a DSFF Inquiry. We interviewed board members and families and gathered insights that would position DSFF as a distinct organization in the community.
To further clarify DSFF's objectives, we held several focus groups that included creative problem solving and ideation around brand, mission and vision. We also created a new visual brand for DSFF and conducted interviews of the board members, capturing their passion for the charity on video.
